I would like to sleep well at night and claim my taxes even though I had a losing year. My question is since you can't claim (deduct) more then you claim on winning income, about how much would you have to pay on taxes if for example you claim $3500 in deductions (losses) and claim $3500 on winnings? Anybody have experience with losing years and claiming? just wondering approximately how much that would cost. Thanks!

Wouldn't that just cancel out. I dont think you would pay anything on that.
